Selah. Stop. Listen. Pause. Reflect. In Hebrew, the systematic meaning of this word is unknown, yet it has been widely speculated. One thing translators and commentators do seem to agree on is that the word intimates the importance of the passage preceding it. This word is used predominately in the book of Psalm. Personally, I believe there is no greater place in Scripture to slow down, hear from God and reflect on Him than God's songbook!

Inviting you to drink deeply from His Word, this self pacing study offers twelve lessons on Happiness and Righteousness; Songs for waking and sleeping; Considering God's Name, His Enemies, His Creation; Declaring His Glory; God's Goodness; Waiting on God; Godliness and much more. Each lesson begins with scripture to read, an introduction to the study, related topical questions with additional scripture references and concludes with the Selah, Pause, and Think on These Things points. Space is provided for short answers although I suspect keeping a journal nearby would be beneficial to your personal quiet time reflections. As someone who spent several months learning from the book of Psalms alongside Charles Spurgeon's Treasury of David, I can assure you that a journey into Psalms can be quite satisfying. KJV is recommended although other versions may work if you have access to an online KJV for any translation differences. 105 pgs, sc. ~ Deanne

Practice learning the calendar with colorful, strong magnets. Kids love to wake up and change the date on their perpetual calendar! The large calendar is a single layer of magnet 12” x 14” that can stick to a refrigerator, file cabinet or magnetic white board. Store the various little magnets right on the board itself. There is a spot to show the day of the week, the numbers in the date, the month, the season, and the daily weather – even if the temperature feels hot or cold. All of these words are on separate flat magnets in cheerful colors. Four small holes in the corners let you attach it to a non-magnetic wall with pushpins or nails. The small calendars have a different format.  These come in a little magnetic folder (7” square) to store all of your wee magnet pieces. It stays shut with a hook and loop dot. On the front is a grid to place the day, the date numbers, the month, weather and even special events like holidays and birthdays. A sturdy cord is knotted through the top from which it can be carried or hung on a wall or even a doorknob. Pink is a two-tone pastel/bright pink. Blue is a two-tone aqua/pale blue. Not only are these calendars a great teaching tool, they are cute enough for gift giving! Think of one as a sibling gift or maybe in a spring Easter basket. ~Sara

This 17"x14," colorful magnetic chart provides kids with the opportunity to practice their analog clock skills again and again! The hours are labeled, colored dots represent five minute increments, and small black dots represent 1-minute increments Movable clock hands are labeled "hours" and "minutes." Number magnets are included for students to place on the clock itself or in the large margins surrounding the clock face. The categories of magnets include: minutes (00-55, in 5 minute increments), hours, and 24 hours (13-24, for those that prefer European or military time). Magnets of time words are also included, such as "a.m.," p.m.," "o'clock," and "half," among others, to use in finishing "The Time Is _____" space on the upper right hand corner of the chart. Finally, the bottom of the chart contains 14 spaces, each labeled with an hour ranging from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm. Accompanying each space is a rectangular magnet with a labeled illustration representing an activity that might represent that hour of the day. These can be swapped around to reflect your daily schedule. For example, 7:00 am is "waking up time" with an illustration of a yawning child; 9:00 am is "math time;" 1:00 pm is "music time;" 4:00 pm is "play time." ~ Lisa

You may not have time to work an entire newspaper-sized crossword puzzle every day. You may not want a page-a-day crossword calendar because you don't want to have one more thing to get behind on. Well, here's a low-pressure, calendar-format crossword-a-day solution! While there is a crossword for each day of the year, no date appears on the page. Just use them on days when you have a few minutes to spare, or get an urge to wake up your brain. They are small (usually 15-18 clues), but challenging enough to make you feel satisfied when you complete them. The not-quite 4½" x 4 ½'" cube will fit unobtrusively on your desk or nightstand.
