Here at Rainbow Resource, we carry a good variety of resources for Greek mythology, and now we found another good one. The Usborne Book of Greek Myths is a very thorough, comprehensive coverage on the topic. The book is divided into two parts. The first and bigger part is the actual myths. The second part is a guide to the myths – who’s who, where did it happen (with maps), and a glossary. The font is large, and the artwork is a wonderful enhancement to the stories – full color illustrations highlighting details of the stories.  This Usborne book can be a tremendous help with your study of Greek myths and the lessons to be learned from them. 301 pages, paper board cover. ~ Donna

Introducing children to the great myths may add perspective to your historical or literature studies. For example, you may have heard the term, "Achilles Heel" and wondered how it came to be. Legend tells of Thetis dipping Achilles into the River Styx to make him immortal. However, she was holding him by the part of the heel we now call our Achilles' heel. This part didn't enter the water and therefore, he had an exposed area of weakness. Or were you aware of the impact of mythology on the writings of Shakespeare? In this succinct, vibrantly illustrated book, you will learn main characters and interesting facts in Greek mythology, as well as similar stories and characters from other cultures. Glossary and index along with additional book and web resource listings make this an amusing resource to learn more about your favorite Ancient Greek myths. 48 pgs, sc. ~ Deanne
