This puzzle colorfully portrays all seven continents, water forms, and a few animals that are found in each region of the world. When the 33 jumbo pieces are put together, the puzzle measures 2'x 3'. The pieces are random shapes and sizes and are all very durable and easy to clean. The puzzle is more for fun than a geography aid, as it only provides names for the continents and some of the oceans. A black and white world map is also included with the puzzle, which offers a more detailed world map. ~ Rachel S.

Suitable for use in classrooms or by home educators, this full-color magnetic U.S. map puzzle helps geography students to recognize the correct shape and location of each state. This hands-on resource contains 43 durable, magnetic puzzle pieces (most states have their own piece, while smaller states have been grouped together), along with a helpful outline map grid that shows the capital of each state. Most states hold a small icon of an object representative of that state, such as longhorn cattle and cowboy boots for Texas, and Mt. Rushmore on South Dakota. The puzzle can be assembled with or without the use of the included paper outline map sheet. An activity guide is included as well that contains a number of fun facts about the states. This resource is a nice hands-on geography supplement. Assembled puzzle measures approximately 13” high by 19” wide. ~ Mike

Introduce your youngster to the continents of the world with this large 1.5 ft by 2.5 ft floor puzzle. It has 44 huge pieces, with many of them shaped like continents and regions. (For example, the entire continents of Australia and Europe are each one piece. Larger continents, such as Africa and North America, are divided into several large pieces.). The puzzle pieces vary in shape and size, but some of them are as large as 3" x 5". The illustrations of the continents themselves are very simple and kid-friendly, with each continent a different color and labeled with the continent's name. Larger individual countries are outlined, but not labeled. Cute cartoon illustrations of animals and landmarks appear on the continents. As an added bonus, the puzzle includes a fun geography game on CD-ROM, which challenges you to locate countries or capitals on a world map. ~ Lisa

The puzzle pieces are larger than your average puzzles (great for little hands) and are easy-to-clean as they have a special surface allowing you to simply wipe them down if they get dirty or sticky. Larger states are individual pieces, while smaller states are clumped together. Each state is brightly colored and clearly identified with the name, capital, and representative illustration. You will be "floored" at how quickly your children will learn their U.S. Geography with the help of this fun and educational puzzle! – elise

Learn the U.S. states, capitals, and flags with this colorful and unique 500-piece jigsaw puzzle. Incredibly, the puzzle is actually a series of 50 state-shaped mini-puzzles that you'll eventually connect into a larger U.S. map. For example, Utah is made up of 11 pieces, and the separate Alaska and Hawaii puzzles are made up of 20 and 10 pieces, respectively. Another very cool feature is that each state is its state flag, instead of the typical solid colored background with illustrated points of interest. This will really bring the flags to life more than just featuring them around the border or as extra "filler" on the puzzle. The fact that you can assemble the states independently also makes the puzzle a great tool for studying the states individually. You could assemble each state as studied and easily track your progress by connecting the finished states. When you're done with the whole U.S., your map will be complete! Assembled puzzle is shaped like the U.S. and measures 32" x 16." - Jess

We're all familiar with puzzles of the U.S. that consist of the 50 states of the Union (I love the ones where they never fit back in quite the same way they came out… just try to fit Connecticut back in!). I have not however, in all my puzzle-working years seen an equivalent world puzzle, consisting of country-shaped pieces to fit back together, until I saw this one. This beautiful global puzzle consists of 600 pieces, and when finished, measures 36" x 18". 193 countries in the world have all been carefully cut and crafted to form whole continents, and each is clearly labeled with its name as well as its capital city. In the case of the U.S. and Canada, most of the states and territories are even cut into their own pieces as well, except for the very small ones. Well, great, you might say, it'll really help me learn my geography, especially in regards to which countries are neighbors, but the earth is, after all, primarily ocean. What will I learn from linking all those blue pieces? I'm glad you asked! The interlocking ocean pieces each contain the name, capital, population and area of each of the 193 countries… alphabetically. This takes the "guesswork" out of the oceans, and imparts a little more information to the puzzle worker as well. Also, this forms a great framework to finish the puzzle by adding the land masses last, as most of the country shapes are not exactly conducive to interlocking. Pull this out for a family evening together, or for geography class… if you're anything like me, you won't be able to tear yourself away from a good puzzle, and the geographical knowledge will sink in almost automatically! - Jess

I love Ravensburger puzzles! This full-color floor puzzle is bi-lingual, with names of animals unique to each Canadian province and the province names in both French and English. Although city names or landmarks are not included, the puzzle's cartoon style is engaging and will provide a fun introduction to Canadian geography. Each of the 24 easy-to-clean pieces is 1/16" thick and approximately 8" square. Finished size is 3' x 2'. ~ Ruth
